Ross “Bouncer” Wiseman AO!

Australia Day 2015 saw one of our Mighty 3rders awarded an AO.

“Mr Ross Llewellyn Wiseman – For significant service to the community through the leadership and promotion of volunteer organisations.”

Congratulations Bouncer!

2016 – April Update

Not much action of late from the Mighty 3rd. July 2015 saw another Reunion in Maroochydore – yours truly who was booked to attend ended up in hospital with a lingual hernia! I understand that many lies were told and much good cheer consumed.

A message from Gary Ross

A bit of history

I served  on the ANZAC, WARREGO, SYDNEY, VAMPIRE,  joined Submarines in 1966, went straight to England, done my training, served on HMS WALRUS for about 2 yrs. then brought the OVENS home in 1969 paid off in1973 after reaching the dizzy heights of LSUC Had a few jobs in Sydney then went to New Zealand for a few years (married and divorced). Came back to Sydney had a few more jobs, found a sheila in Queensland in the early 80’s and have been together ever since.

Found a job at the ROYAL AUSTRALIAN ARMAMENT DEPOT at Silverwater, there for 10yrs when it shut down for the Sydney Olympics. Have been retired for about ten yrs now and loving it.

Thr Reunion is Over :(

A great time was had by all, well at least we did! Returning to Canberra and having to walk across the tarmac in 4C was NOT GOOD!
Here is a group photo sample – all photos are now available on allanmoore.com – Reunion photos. You can view the Thumbnail then download large size image for printing.

Peter Girven – On The Track

G’day Pony,we are travelling to the reunion with our camper trailer and have found the nearest caravan park to the RSL is the Cotton Tree Caravan Park, just a couple of blocks away if you enjoy a drink, they don’t take bookings unless you are staying more than a week as there is plenty of room at that time of the year.

Unfortunately none of the van parks in the area take pets, as we are travelling with our livestock we located the Maroochy boarding kennels which is fairly handy and reasonable. I hope this can be of help to others who may be going with their vans.

Regards Peter Girven
